Here’s what you do: (1) Simply copy the text, (2) edit it as needed, (3) pass it off to your manager, and (4) you will be joining us in London for ChefConf 2020!
Subject: We need to go to ChefConf 2020
Hi (INSERT NAME),
ChefConf 2020 is returning to London from June 15th - June 17th, and I think it’s important that we have members of the team attend. Recognising that travelling to Seattle is not possible for many within the Chef Community, Chef brought their flagship event to Europe last year for the first time and is repeating that this year.
ChefConf brings together DevOps professionals from the world’s leading companies to learn about the latest trends and technologies in modern application delivery. Three days of workshops, keynotes, sessions, and networking events with industry leaders will give us the knowledge and insight we can immediately put to use and accelerate our projects.
We will have the unique opportunity to interact directly with Chef engineers, Solution Architects, and also to meet with local members of the Chef Community, other users and our peers in the industry, in the largest gathering outside of the US. These contacts are invaluable to build our networks and will most definitely benefit other projects moving forward. The Chef executive team will also be at the event in London and we can arrange meetings with them if you’d like to know more about Chef’s direction, the product roadmap, or trends in the industry.
If we book before April 15th and take advantage of Early Bird pricing, we can attend for an estimated total cost of per person.
Here’s the approximate cost breakdown:
- Travel: ______
- Hotel (per night cost 2 nights, June 15th - June 16th, at £150 approx per night)
- Additional Meals (breakfast and lunch both days and evening meal on Tuesday included in conference fee): ______
- Conference Fee: £395 (Early Bird pricing available til April 15th - after that cost increase to £495)
- Additional Workshop Fee (Monday): £150 for a full-day training (this really is a good chance for us to get some solid training at a reduced rate)
All of the details and sessions will be listed at chefconf.io. I am happy to sit down with you and pick sessions we feel will be most relevant to us and the team.
When we get back, we will debrief the rest of the team on key takeaways, major techniques, and action items we learn. Attending ChefConf will almost immediately show a positive ROI.
